Newby's home
using the latest in technology with WaterFurnace Geothermal
heating and cooling.
Gordon Air
Conditioning
installed the
geothermal heating and cooling system. The WaterFurnace
system also produces domestic hot water. Lined ductboard was
used to minimize loose fiberglass in the ventilation system.
Three 200' loops were installed as suggested by the
WaterFurnace Efficiency Analysis. The 3068 square foot home
required a 2½-ton system according to heat load calculations
and the WFEA software. $47 was the first month's total power
bill during the 9 day open house where over 1000 people came
and visited the home. Thermostat was set on 75 degrees on
typical Florida July days.

There are
only four pictures shown here since there is so much
geothermal information already on this web site. First photo
on top row shows the bundled loop getting ready for
installation. Second photograph on top row shows the
drilling rig preparing to drill. First picture on bottom row
shows another view of the drilling rig and the rods used for
drilling. Last picture on bottom row shows installed unit
taken at Parade of Homes show.
Take a look at Mirror Lake from the Newby's back porch.
